Egos rosè – a new organic wine

EGOS – Nature inspired
Since 2017, EGOS represents our organic wines born to enhance the efforts of our wine growers. In fact, about 30% of the vineyards of our cooperative are organic. Making organic viticulture is much more difficult than conventional one and requires much more preparation and dedication. It means, for example, the ban of use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers but only a few selected products, such as copper and sulphur, and above all maintaining or increasing biodiversity in the vineyard.
At the beginning, the organic product line was included only two wines, a Verdicchio di Matelica DOC and a Marche IGT Merlot, which immediately were appreciated by numerous consumers. Authentic wines, obtained from the vinification of only Verdicchio and Merlot grapes in purity, aged in stainless steel tanks to ensure the maximum sensory expression of the two varieties.
Our Rosè – Marche IGT Rosato “Egos”
With the 2020 harvest the Marche IGT Rosè was launched. After a short cold maceration of the destemmed and crushed grapes (skin contact), after soft pressing, the vinification and then the maturation are done in stainless steel tanks. This wine shows a bright pink color. To the nose it expresses floral and fruity scents with notes of cherry and strawberry. The taste is characterized by great elegance, softness, a pleasant freshness and an excellent aromatic persistence. Considered by many to be an aperitif wine, rosé wine is actually an all-meal wine. Tannic but without the astringency typical of red wines, fresh but without the acidity typical of white wines, it is a wine that can be combined with almost all dishes. Our Marche IGT Rosè “EGOS” matches perfectly with appetizers, first courses, frying and fish dishes. Drink fresh (10-12°C) and try it with a typical Italian fish soup called “brodetto”. It will amaze you!
Food pairing with “brodetto”
“Brodetto” is a typical recipe of Italian seaside resorts and may remember a fish soup. A poor recipe that was born by using the fish was discarded from the fish market and so the fishermen invented this delicious dish. From poor dish what it was now became a gourmet meal! Each region overlooking the sea has its own version. In the Marche Region there are several variants, all to try. In fact, from North to South, from Pesaro to Ascoli Piceno, almost every city on the coast, has “its” brodetto recipe. A poor dish but with a strong flavor and intense scent that goes well with our organic rosé.
